Pragmatic Sustainability in Manufacturing
At Born to Cut UG, we believe that technological progress and ecological responsibility do not have to be mutually exclusive. As a prototyping company, we manufacture physical components—and we are fully aware of the material flows involved. Therefore, we follow a clear approach: sustainability where it is technically feasible and reasonable.
Our Material Standard
Whenever mechanical, thermal, and aesthetic requirements allow, we prioritize the use of sustainable materials that are biodegradable (according to DIN EN ISO 14855). Through precise slicing processes and optimized printing parameters, we also actively reduce waste and material consumption to an absolute minimum.
The Search for the Green NFC Chip
We consistently advance sustainability even in our digital hardware interfaces. A permanent part of our future planning is the integration of fully compostable NFC chips. We are currently still actively searching for the right technological solution to make even the last gram of plastic in our smart enclosures and system components compostable. Although this development path is more complex, we pursue it resolutely to consistently minimize the carbon footprint of our hardware projects.
For us, precision does not just mean delivering the perfect component, but also taking responsibility for the material it is made of.
